Model curation techniques for EA

Ian has been thinking deep thoughts again, this time about model curation.

As an online dictionary has it:

Curate verb (used with object), curated, curating.

  • to take charge of (a museum) or organize (an art exhibit): to curate a photography show.
  • to pull together, sift through, and select for presentation, as music or website content:

Or, as an SXSW panel suggested in March 2011:

No longer a job for tweedy paleontologists, arranging flint arrowheads by size, ... curation is a matter of speedy, selective contextualising. It’s more than merely aggregating content, it’s a matter of giving the chosen content added meaning.

Out of a fast-flowing river of news, curators are the zen-like bears, sitting amid the chaos, selectively plucking out the juiciest, shiniest salmon and then explaining which bits to eat.¹

So in the best tradition of zen-like bears, and with the hope that he won't be alone in this particular river, Ian has just published a series of articles describing how cleaning, navigating and validating your EA model makes sharing and collaborating much more effective.
