When you create a new Quick Document, or add a new section to an existing document, eaDocX will automatically add new information to the Profile. You can change the auto-generated profile rules.
When it creates a new profile, the eaDocX Profile Generator looks at your model, and create profiles for:
•Each different type of element in the model
•Each stereotype of each type of element
For each of these it will also decide whether to print is as rows in a table, or as line paragraphs
Elements or stereotypes are printed inline only if:
•They have sub-elements (e.g. tasks, issues etc)
Otherwise, they will print as rows in a table.
eaDocX creates profiles so that your documents will always show the information which you have added. It might not be formatted exactly the way you want, but we thought that it's easy to modify something that's nearly right that to create it from nothing.
The auto-generated profile will print the links which are in your model. So, for example, if Actor and Use Case elements are linked by Association links, the Actor Profile will print the Associated Use Cases, and Use Cases will print their associated Actors.
This can result in a document which has a lot of links, but we think it's easier for you to delete the ones you don't want than to create the ones which you do want from scratch.
•For each element, only the Name and Description(notes) attributes, plus relationships, are printed.
•For stereotypes of elements, the Name, Description, Stereotype and relationships are printed.
You can add more attributes by editing the profile.
